The Yarn -
Something about this blush-oatmeal color of Louet Gems Worsted makes me think about soft baby animals. When I signed on to host the Paseo Stole/Shawl KAL for Louet, I requested this color. It's a kitty's belly in the sunshine, or a baby bunny hopping across a green lawn. When you combine this color with how soft this 100% merino yarn is, I can't imagine what would make this yarn any better.
The Pattern -
The Paseo pattern designed by Susanna IC was just released today and it's basically two patterns in one: a stole knitted in worsted Gems and a shawl knitted in fingering weight Gems. Both weights are made of the same super soft merino. Nothing better than getting a pattern for free!
The stole is a rectangular wrap with a garter body and a lacy border, and can be worn in many different ways. The shawl version is a simple triangular shawl construction with a stockinette body and garter ridges and a lacy border that echoes the lace on the stole.
The Details -
To participate in the KAL, you must make and finish either the Paseo stole or shawl (available for purchase on Ravelry) by October 31st, 2015.
The KAL will be going on in the Junkyarn Ravelry group. A picture of your finished stole or shawl must be posted by midnight EST on October 31st in order to be entered for prizes. Of course, if you finish it afterwards, we'd still love to see it!
In progress pictures, yarn choices, and general chatter can be posted in the Paseo KAL // Chatter Thread. (Please don't post your FOs there, or you might not get counted for giveaway prizes!)
The Prizes -
- A project's worth of Louet Gems yarn for one of the other fall 2015 patterns -- exact quantity of yarn will be announced at a later date!
- A set of koi fish stitch markers from Andre Sue Knits
- Other goodies to be announced!
How to Get Started -
Step 1. Go download the Paseo pattern and decide which version you'd like to make.
Step 2. Pick your yarn!
Step 3. Join the Junkyarn Ravelry group and check into the KAL group!
Step 4. Knit that thing!
Step 5. Post pictures, contribute to the group and enjoy the KAL. Use the hashtag #PaseoKAL on Instagram and Twitter!
Step 6. Before October 31st, post a picture of your finished object to the Paseo KAL // Finished Objects Only thread!
